Conference Sub-Themes
Sub-theme 1: Evidence Generation and Translation in Healthcare
- Original clinical and public health research, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses addressing national health priorities and emerging challenges.
- Evidence-based strategies and innovative interventions for the prevention, management, and long-term control of acute and chronic health conditions.
- Strengthening Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).
- Translation of research findings into clinical guidelines, health policy frameworks, and actionable healthcare improvements.
- Investigating the impact of environmental changes and climate-related factors on local health outcomes.
Sub-theme 2: Innovation in Medical and Health Science Education and Workforce Development
- Implementation of integrated, learner-centered curricula and modern student assessment tools.
- Advancements in e-learning platforms, virtual classroom environments, and hybrid learning models.
- Enhancement of clinical and technical skills through simulation, virtual reality (VR), and hands-on training.
- Strengthening academic excellence through faculty mentorship, peer-coaching, and transformative leadership development.
- Strategic models for health workforce planning and the promotion of professional ethics.
Sub-theme 3: Digital Health Systems and Virtual Care
- Transitioning to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to improve patient data safety, interoperability, and accuracy.
- Expanding specialty care reach through telemedicine and remote consultation platforms in healthcare.
- Addressing the legal, ethical, and technical aspects of health data privacy and security.
- Utilizing big data and digital tools for disease surveillance and population health.
- Deploying mobile health (mHealth) innovations for real-time patient monitoring and health promotion.
Sub-theme 4: Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health
- Applications of machine learning in medical imaging, pathology, and automated laboratory analysis.
- Utilization of predictive AI to forecast patient outcomes, and disease outbreaks.
- Exploring the role of smart algorithms (such as Large Language Models) in precision medicine.
- Development of frameworks for AI data bias mitigation, algorithmic transparency, and patient privacy.
- Strategies for integrating AI tools into existing clinical workflows without operational disruption.
Sub-theme 5: Quality Improvement (QI) and Patient Safety
- Application of quality improvement principles in clinical settings.
- Strengthening incident reporting systems, root cause analysis, and medication safety protocols.
- Establishing pathways toward national and international institutional healthcare accreditation.
- Enhancement of the patient experience through family involvement and shared decision-making models.
- Systematically reviewing healthcare performance through clinical audits and corrective feedback loops.

To ensure your abstract is considered, please adhere to the following technical requirements:
- Title: Bold the title, capitalize all major words
- Authors: List all authors and affiliations; underline the presenting author.
- Structure: Background, Objective, Methods, Result/Discussion, Conclusion/Recommendation)
- Word Limit:Maximum 300 words
- Keywords:3 to 5 keywords
- Font:Times New Roman, Size 12

- A limited number of travel grants are available for selected presenters traveling from outside Addis Ababa.
- Awards will be presented for Outstanding Oral Presentation and Outstanding Poster Presentation during the closing ceremony.
