Provost office of St Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College
The provost office is the highest management office of the college and the provost is the chief executive officer of the college appointed in accordance with Articles 52 of the Higher Education Proclamation. The provost’s office is responsible for directing and administering the college in order to ensure that its mission is met by creating and continuously building a conducive institutional environment that encourages learning, medical service, research, and the delivery of standard and quality health care services. Furthermore, the provost’s office is responsible for developing and implementing institutional standard measures, as well as ensuring that the institution’s academic and administrative operations adhere to set standards. The office of the provost also ensures that the college generates revenues in line with applicable regulations, that resources are used efficiently. The office develops college plans, budgets, organizational structures, and directives, monitors their implementation after approval, and provides quarterly updates to the board, government, and the public on the college’s status. Finally, the provost’s office handles all third-party interactions.
The office oversees the three vice provost offices:-
- The Academic and Research vice Provost (ARVP) office oversees education, training, research, healthcare, consulting, and community services.
- The Business and Development vice Provost (DAVP) office manages the College’s financial, administrative, and support services, as well as its human resources and professional development.
- The Medical Service vice Provost (MSVP) office coordinates 32 directorates to plan, direct, and supervise health care and provide quality medical services at the college.
Seven directorates report directly to the provost’s office. They are:-
- Medico Legal Directorate
- Internal Audit Directorate
- Public Relation and Communication Directorate
- Ethics and Anti-corruption Directorate
- Women, Youth and Children Directorate
The provost’s office directs and supervises the above-mentioned directorates through quarterly performance reports and provides assistance in accomplishing their goals in accordance with the college’s strategic plan.
