Profile
Delayehu Bekele is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College. He studied medicine at University of Gondar College of Medical Science and worked as a general practitioner for two years at Debub University. Then he did his postgraduate specialty in obstetrics and gynecology at Addis Ababa University. He has also an additional master’s degree in public health from University of Gondar.
He has served as the head of the department of Ob-Gyn from Dec. 2008 to Nov. 2009 and the head of the school of medicine at Hawassa University from Oct. 2009 to Jan. 2011.
He is currently working as an associate professor of Obstetrics as of June 2014 and Gynecology and maternal medicine fellow at Saint Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College. He provides clinical service at Saint Paul’s Hospital teaches undergraduate medical students and mentors Ob-Gyn residents. In addition he has a special interest in doing researches. He has more than 20 publications and was awarded a best researcher award by the college in 2015. He is the associate editor for the Ethiopian Journal of Reproductive Health.
